Psalm 29

Woodlands

O mighty ones, ascribe you to the Lord,
Glory and strength, ascribe it to the Lord.
The glory due, ascribe now to the Lord;
In splendour holy, come and praise the Lord.

Come hear the Lord, his voice over the seas,
The God of glory thunders on strong seas.
Come hear the Lord, his voice sounds powerf'lly;
Come hear the Lord, his voice sounds wonderf'lly.

The cedars break at the voice of the Lord;
The Leb'non cedars shattered by the Lord.
Leb'non like calves he makes to skip along
Hermon as oxen that are wild and young.

The Lord's voice strikes, with lightning flashes strikes,
The Lord's voice shakes the wastes, he Kadesh shakes.
The Lord's voice twists the oaks, strips forests bare.
And in his temple - they cry "Glory!" there.

Over the flood, the Lord he sits enthroned;
As King fore'er, the Lord he sits enthroned.
Strength for his people he gives, from the Lord;
With peace his people are blessed by the Lord.
