Psalm 24
Irby
The Earth is the Lord’s possession,
All with which it does abound,
All the world, its population;
For he on the sea it found,
He has on the vast ocean
Put in place his creation.
Who may go up to the Lord’s hill?
In his holy place, who stands?
He whose heart is free from evil,
Who from sin has washed his hands,
He whose soul all idols spurns,
And who from false witness turns.
Blessings great the Lord will confer,
He receives vindication
From the God who is his Saviour
Such is the generation
Of those who for him do seek,
Jacob’s God, your face who seek.
Lift your heads, O gates, on high;
Ancient doors, uplifted be,
For the King of glory comes nigh.
‘King of glory’, who is he?
He’s the Lord of strength and might,
God who’s mighty in the fight.
Lift your heads, O gates, on high;
Ancient doors, let them raised be,
For the King of glory comes nigh.
'King of glory', who is he?
He’s the Lord, all might is his,
He the King of Glory is.
