Psalm 130

Martyrdom

Out of the depths I cry to you,
O Lord; Lord, hear my plea.
O let your ears be open to
My cry for your mercy.

If you, Lord, kept a note of sin,
Then, Lord, who could endure?
But with you sins can be forgiv'n,
Therefore, we owe you fear.

I wait for God, my soul will wait,
My hope is in his word.
More than for morning watchmen wait,
My soul waits for the Lord.

More than watchmen wait for the morn,
My soul waits for the Lord.
Israel, put your hope in the Lord,
For mercy he’ll afford.

With God there is redemption full,
He will himself redeem,
Redeem his people Israel,
From all their sins redeem.

Psalm 133

CM

How good, how pleasant is the sight,
How wonderful to see,
When brothers make it their delight
To live in unity.

It’s like the precious oil that poured
Out on to Aaron’s head,
That running down onto his beard,
Upon his collar spread.

It is as if Mount Hermon’s dew
On Zion were to pour.
That’s where the Lord sends blessing to,
Ev'n life for evermore.

Psalm 138

Melcombe

With all my heart I’ll praise you Lord;
Before the ‘gods’ I’ll sing and bless,
Your holy temple bow toward,
I’ll praise for love and faithfulness.

Your name and word you’ve made to be
Much greater far than everything.
When I cried out, you answered me;
You made me bold and strong within.

May all the kings of earth give praise,
Lord, when they hear you speak your word
And may they sing the Lord’s own ways:
For great the glory of the Lord.

Though God’s on high, the meek he knows
But views the proud from far away.
Although I walk amid such woes,
You guard my life, preserve my way.

Against my foes you stretch your hand,
By your right hand you me relieve.
God’s plans won’t fail; your love will stand,
Your hands’ own work, Lord, never leave.
