He was with Wilma
But he wanted Wanda
This blog chiefly contains metrical versions of the psalms based on the NIV text but also poems I have written down the years

I touch the dirt between the cracks
That beats the constant scrub.
Dust settles on the cleanest wax,
Despite the ragged rub.
Grease gets under my fingernails,
Filth fills my open pores;
The grime of all these wasted years,
Washed scarce by salty tears.
And when I think beneath the skin,
Pierce the hard heart within,
I know the muck's not paper thin;
I lose, I never win.
So what can clean? How will I wash
The grained in grime of sin?
My only hope, my saving plea
Is Jesus' blood of God.

Questions 68 - 71
CM
What's a cov'nant? An agreement
Made by two or by more.
By cov'nant of grace what is meant?
It's one made long before.
It's an eternal agreement
Within the Trinity
To save certain persons, elect,
Now and eternally.
To do what did Christ undertake
In the cov'nant of grace?
All the law to keep for men's sake
And suffer in their place.
Did Christ ever sin to his shame?
No, as man and as child,
Our Lord was holy, without blame,
He remained undefiled.

It's getting late
I'm fifty eight
So soon will come the day
Death's on the way
Don't hesitate
Work hard and always pray.
