Days
How I long for, O how I dream,
Of days that are now past
Days that now are gone forever
Days that did not last.
All I see now, yes, all I feel,
These days go by so fast
Days that float away forever
Days that will not last.

Twenty-six
I wrote this when I was twenty sixThe twenty-sixth summer's almost gone
Half of those summers spent in the Lord
Yet there's still so much wrong.

Catechism 7
Questions 42-52
CM
And so what is the first command?
What is taught by this first command?
The Sabbath keep to me.
What is taught by the fourth command?
The Sabbath keep holy.
The Christian Sabbath's on what day
Each week it's the first day,
It's on a Sunday, the Lord's Day,
The Christian's Sabbath day.
Why do we call it the Lord's Day?
As Christ made it his own.
He rose up on that very day
(See rolled away the stone).
How should the Sabbath be observed?
Rest from work, prayer and praise,
In hearing, reading from God’s Word,
Helping others always.

When I write
When I write the book about my life
Gonna have a part where I meet you, girl!
When they film the film about my life
There'll be a bit in which I meet you, girl!

Structure
It struck the strict man, he could not strike
The stricken child, not since the stroke.
Instead he loves her left hand to stroke
And say the strike has spoiled the land.

To the girl in the reflection

I know it's wrong to stare
While I gaze in your direction,
Just pretend that I'm not there.
I imagine your affection
Ending my dejection
As I chase my predilection
For spending my journey back home
With the girl in the reflection.

Gardening
The allotment meant a lot to Lancelot Lane,
But his greenhouse was just a pain.
How he dug the tool of his trade, his garden spade,
Give him a hoe and how he'd laugh.
His lawn so fine he cut each day with iron blade,
but wished like Cain, he'd had more staff.

The allotment meant
Lyric for my latest lay
As he lay down the law, how he lied.
Behind a layer of lies this leering,
learned layman led us on in pride.
He was no lawyer, just a liar!

Hear us O Shepherd
Hear us, O Shepherd,
Hear your own.
Come now, awaken
Your great might.
Hear us, O Lord God,
From your throne.
Shine forth and dispel
This dark night.
